The Higher Education Commission (HEC) announces the dates for registration for the Higher Education Aptitude Test (HAT). The HAT test is administered by the Education Testing Council (ETC) to award all HEC scholarships as well as for admission to MPhil and MS programs with an easy, uniform and clear selection process. We will communicate any changes to the test date, if necessary, for the test scheduled on January 28, 2024, through www.hec.gov.pk.

How to apply for the HEC Aptitude Test (HAT Test)

1. For registration, please visit the following link: http://etc.hec.gov.pk.
2. In case of any query during the online registration, please visit onlinehelp.hec.gov.pk or visit HEC regional offices for guidance.
3. The application submission process consists of two steps, namely. complete your profile through”My Profile,” and then the “My Profile” section and submit the application by using the “Higher Education Aptitude Test” and “Higher Education Aptitude Test” hyperlinks on the menu bar in the left-hand sidebar of the portal online.
4. We will only consider applications that have been submitted for the test. We won’t accept applications that are saved or in an INCOMPLETE mode.
5. The cost for testing with the HAT test is around PKR 2,000 or less per applicant. Candidates will deposit the fee amount via 1Link 1bill invoice participating banks/ATM/Internet banking/Mobil App/EasyPessa/JazCash/UPaisa.
6. After you have chosen 1Link 1bill as your service, you can sign into your mobile application and then click on bill payment or payment services.
7. Click on 1bill’s payment options for invoices and enter the consumer number generated through the ETC Portal. ETC Portal. When you are able to see the details you can pay the amount.
8. Click to verify online payment on the ETC dashboard.
9. The test fee is not refundable and cannot be transferred.
