Rahim Yar Khan, a dynamic city located in the southernmost region of Punjab, Pakistan, has a rich history and vibrant progress. Formerly known as Nowshera, it was renamed Rahim Yar Khan in 1809 by Nawab Muhammad Sadiq Khan in honor of his son. History
Designated as a district headquarters in 1930 and transformed into an industrial hub in 1942, Rahim Yar Khan has witnessed significant urbanization. Landmark factories such as Abbasia Textile Mills and Sadiq Vegetable & Oil Mills (now Unilever) were established in the 1950s, contributing to the city’s growth. Strategically positioned at the convergence of three provinces – Punjab, Sindh, and Baluchistan – Rahim Yar Khan Serves as a vital center for health, education, business, trade, and agriculture. Despite its agricultural prominence, the region has historically lacked opportunities for higher education, compelling residents to seek options in distant cities.
