Today, Prime Minister Imran Khan launched a fee reimbursement scheme aimed at supporting students in public sector universities. The PM fee reimbursement scheme extends its benefits to both current undergraduate students and candidates who have completed their education. All universities in developing areas are included in this scheme. Online registration for the PM fee reimbursement scheme 2024 is now open. PM Fee Reimbursement Scheme 2024

There is no last date for the PM fee reimbursement scheme 2024. All received application forms will be referred to HEC. Higher Education Pakistan will consider your application forms. Students who are studying in less developed areas universities on open merit are eligible for the scheme.

PM Fee Reimbursement Scheme 2024: The Federal Government has taken a significant step to support the educational sector in underdeveloped regions of Pakistan, including Balochistan, Gilgit/Baltistan, FATA, Interior Sindh, South Punjab, Malakand, Kohistan, and D.I. Khan areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. This initiative aims to cover the tuition fees of students pursuing Masters, M.Phil, and PhD programs in Public Sector Universities.

PM Fee Reimbursement Scheme 2024 For Less Developed Areas

The scheme was introduced initially for five (5) years beginning in FY 2012-13 with the provision that those students who join the scheme in the last year i.e. FY 2016-17 will continue to be funded until they complete their academic Programme.

Eligibility Criteria:

Domicile:

  • Balochistan
  • Gilgit-Baltistan
  • Formerly Administered Tribal Areas (FATA)
  • Interior Sindh
  • South Punjab (Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan)
  • Malakand Division (including Dera Ismail Khan)
  • Kohistan

Enrollment:

  • Existing Students: Enrolled on merit in Master’s, MS/M.Phil programs in their respective domiciled areas. Students from FATA, Malakand, Kohistan, and D.I. Khan studying in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa universities are also eligible.
  • PhD Candidates: Domicile from any of the listed areas and enrolled in any public sector university in Pakistan.
  • New Admissions: Merit-based admission in universities located in their respective domiciled areas:
  • Master’s/MS/M.Phil: Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, FATA (enrolled in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa universities)
  • PhD: Any public sector university in Pakistan

  • Affiliated government colleges
  • Public Sector Degree Awarding Institutes (DAIs)

The scheme covers tuition fees and mandatory fees except for:

  • Self-financed students
  • Students already receiving scholarships

Ineligibility:

  • Scholarship recipients from HEC, Provincial Governments, or other organizations.
  • Self-financed students.
  • Part-time students.

  • No application required: List of eligible students collected directly from universities by HEC.
  • Universities forward student names: Respective universities submit student lists to HEC.
  • HEC pays tuition fees: Directly to universities (including academic, incidental, and mandatory fees).

Subsequent Payments:

  • Continuation of tuition fee support depends on satisfactory academic progress and meeting the university’s minimum CGPA/percentage requirements.
  • Students must maintain full-time student status with a full course load per semester/term/year.

  1. Actual Tuition Fee (of Masters, MS/MPhil and PhD programs)
  2. On and Off Mandatory charges which include Registration Fee/Enrolment Fee, Admission fee (For new admissions only), Examination Fee, Library charges(non-refundable), Laboratory charges, Research related academic activities only.
  3. Non-study related heads like transport fees, hostel fees, Sports fees, Endowment funds, Equipment fees, Health fees or Any Refundable dues will not be paid.
