The Utility Stores Corporation (USC) has launched the Ramzan Relief Package 2024 across all utility stores in Pakistan. This initiative, which began on Monday, aims to provide subsidies on specific commodities. The government introduced this package a week before the start of the fasting month, expected to commence on March 12. The primary objective is to alleviate the burden on lower-income groups amidst the challenges posed by inflation. Annually, the government announces this relief package to ease the impact of increased food consumption and charitable giving during the holiest month. To support those affected by inflation, the federal government has allocated Rs35 billion in the budget for the fiscal year 2023-24, specifically for subsidies on essential items as part of the Prime Minister’s Relief Package.
