About The Ghazi University Dera Ghazi Khan
Ghazi University, located in Dera Ghazi Khan, serves as a vital educational hub in Southern Punjab, fulfilling the academic needs of the region since its establishment in 2012. Situated centrally near Pull Daat and College Chowk, the university emerged as a culmination of educational aspirations, officially becoming operational as a full-fledged institution in 2014. It amalgamated three existing institutions to provide comprehensive education across various disciplines, including agricultural sciences, arts, social and natural sciences.
History
Founded by the Government of Punjab, Ghazi University marks a significant milestone in Pakistan’s higher education landscape. Initially integrating three prominent institutions, it emerged as the sole higher education provider in Southern Punjab, catering to diverse educational needs in districts like D.G. Khan, Layyah, Muzaffargarh, and Rajanpur. With a wide array of undergraduate and graduate programs, including Ph.D. offerings in ten disciplines, the university aims to enhance educational accessibility and expand its influence to neighboring regions in Balochistan and Sindh Province.
