The University College of Engineering Taxila, established in 1975, initially operated in Sahiwal before relocating to its permanent location in Taxila in 1978. It began as a part of the University of Engineering and Technology Lahore before becoming an independent university in 1993. Currently, it boasts an enrollment of over 2000 undergraduate and postgraduate students.

History

In response to a surge in student enrollment in the 1970s, the idea of expanding the UET Lahore led to the establishment of the University College of Engineering Taxila. After operating in Sahiwal for three years, it moved to its permanent location in Taxila. In 1993, it gained independence as a university under the University of Engineering and Technology Taxila Ordinance.
